What an impressive release, no surprise the album is that good. Just like its successor, maybe even more so, ΨΥΧΙΚΗ ΑΠΟΣΥΝΘΕΣΗ (Mental Decay) manages living up to its name. There is a malign, threatening presence oozing out between the riffs and the atmospheric parts at all times, evoking the feeling of constantly and slowly rotting away mentally, losing grip of ones consciousness more and more. I.A. did a masterful job here, constructing a terrifying journey into delirium.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. As I type this in December this is easily 2023's AOTY for me. Late to the party, I know. It just never gets boring though, even dozens of full-length listens later. Everything is top-tier here; from the writing to vocals to instrument mastery. And oh the atmosphere. I'm in love. This is precisely the kind of brutal and gothic mood I lust after. Thank you so much Drama Noir for this masterpiece.
